Stitch Fix #7

11/27/2016

Another day, another Stitch Fix.  I had decided on a whim to sign up for a fix when Stitch Fix offered to waive the $20 styling fee.  Being one of those curious types, I figured there was nothing to lose by seeing what they would send me. I asked for a "typically fall" outfit for a post-Thanksgiving fix and was happy to try on some typically fall picks.

As it turns out, our holiday season turned out to be more hectic than expected when a family member had a major health crisis the day after Thanksgiving. So I ended up snapping these pictures and then leaving them on my computer until I finally had chance to post them, today, almost 2 months later.

So here's the rundown:

Market & Spruce - Katlan Button Down Top

There's something about a plaid shirt that just makes me feel like maybe I can pull off that effortlessly relaxed look of Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper. Maybe that's why I have such a hard time finding one that combines a great color pallette with the right fit.  This blouse undeniably fit like a glove and the color, though not something i would typically be drawn to, was cute and seasonally apropriate.
verdict: KEPT ($58)

Market & Spruce - Wilco Solid Quilted Vest

This green vest says, "I'm preppy!", oh yes, it does.  There was so much I liked about this vest - it fit well and wasn't too heavy as to make me look (even more) bulky.  Ultimately, I couldn't see how it would fit into my (not so preppy) wardrobe, and I couldn't justify spending the dinero for it.
 Verdict: RETURNED ($68)

RD Style - Killian Cowl Neck Sweater

This sweater is a serious comfy cozy.  While not any sort of stunner, it fit great and I could imagine wearing it to all sorts winter events, or even just as a comfortable work shirt.  It's already served me well throughout this winter season.  Love it!
Verdict: KEPT ($68)

Skies are Blue - Braya Cargo Jacket

This jacket is all business in the front, party in the back.  It was a cute cargo jacket, in a great navy color.  I've been wanting more in the way of jacket options and I almost said "yeas" to this dress, but I ended up (sadly) returning it because of the plaid back. Not because I didn't like it, but more because I'd rather have a jacket like this that is more classic.
 Verdict: RETURNED ($88)

Kut from the Kloth - Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean

Jeans!  I've gotten a handful of random, boyfriend style jeans from my past few fixes and these ones were probably the cutest style-wise.  But to be honest, I'm just not a boyfriend jean kind of person and the style rarely fits right.  These were too tight at the waist and fit rather wide and short in the bottom.
 Verdict: RETURNED ($78)
A few other details:

If you refer a friend (or inspired stranger), then you received a $25 credit when that person orders and receives their first fix.  So, if you're interested in trying this service, I'd love for you to use my Referral Link. ;) Stitch Fix is also now available for men.

Every fix comes with a personalized note from your stylist describing briefly why s/he picked the items for you.  In addition, there is a card that shows two ways to style each item in the fix in order to give you inspiration.

When it comes to checking out, the $20 styling fee is credited back to you, even if you keep just one item.  Also, if you buy all five items, then the whole lot is 25% off.  It's interesting how the 25% off plays into the decision-making process.
Click to read the reviews for my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th Stitch Fix.  I have not written a review on my 5th fix
*disclosure: this is not a sponsored post, just a service that I'm using that I want to share
