Metz Pics

Sorry about the radio silence.  My computer situation at the moment is less than ideal.  I could go into specifics, but that would take too long, but what it basically comes down to is that the only way I can access my site is while in the teacher's lounge at my school.  Hopefully that will change within the next week or so.  Also, I caught a pretty bad cold on Sunday and have been just trying to go to my classes and avoid feel completely like the living dead.  The cold's getting a bit better today, so hopefully that will be gone, too.

In the meantime, here are some pics from our trip to Metz, the second largest town in our region and about 30 minutes (by car) from where I live:

OK, so now you have my attention! I was there too, but in 2009. Our guide told us some of the windows in the Cathedral de St. Stephen were designed by Marc Chagall in the '50's and '6o's. I loved the displays of all the food at the Marche Couvert aussi! My Mom and I were on a river cruise on the Moselle River and stopped for a day in Metz to explore the town...pretty gardens at the opera house too. Hope your cold gets better!!

You chose the best one!
What was the texture? It's looks like cheesecake on the top layer. I love the artistic, yet random placement of the toppings.
Feed a cold and feed a fever? It's something like that.
Get well soon.

The cold has really improved and I'm feeling quite a bit better.

Marsha, yes I went into the church just yesterday and saw some of the windows - they're very cool! I think I took a picture or two of them. All in all, Metz is a very charming town.

Mom - The texture was much lighter than a cheesecake, but still very rich. The small middle layer was denser and the bottom layer like a soft cookie with crunchies in it. We went back to this patisserie yesterday and had some other stuff - it's a particularly good place!

Yum! I know I said that I wasn't coming to France but that bakery may entice me. Glad you are feeling better. Great photos!

Hello Katie!

That church is beautiful! I happened upon it on Wednesday. SO lovely.

As far as your cold, it's not just the French in Fameck that are contagious. Here in Commercy the same thing has happened! Those darn Frenchies.

Hope to see you again soon!
